Beautiful Weekend in the Wairarapa

26 October 2009

This Labour weekend has been absolutely beautiful here in the Wairarapa. It has been singlet tops, skirts and jandals every day.
I have had a very productive few days. Firstly finishing an order of 84 letters for Port-O-Call in Napier. If you get a chance to go in there and have a look before they all sell, do.(They should be there by next weekend) To see so many letters enmass is a visual feast ,even for me who sees them every day.
I finished off some smaller orders for Toi Toi in Christchurch and Expressions In Upper Hutt. I've also started my large order for Cranfields.

The photo shows a new chalkboard that I made on Thursday. I have already sold one, so hopefully they are a seller.

Some of my tinwork is now displayed in the Trelise Cooper Outlet Store in Greytown. I'm surprised people see the angels amongst the beautiful clothes!
Hi to Penny who has worked so hard to get the shop up, running and looking gorgeous.

Now I am going to recommend a film and a book which I read and saw this week. The movie is 'Julie and Julia'. Just loved it and I'm not into cooking! Meryl Streep is fantastic. The book is 'An Equal Stillness' by Francesca Kay. Its her first book and I just couldn't put it down. Its written as if a biography about a woman artist in the 60's. Her struggle to paint, support her artist husband, raise chidren etc. When I had finished the book I actually googled 'Janet Mallow' (main character)to see if she was real but I was disappointed that she wasn't. I just wanted to see her paintings!

Today is my fathers 55th birthday. I know he will be checking this blog just to make sure I'm spelling things correctly. (he will be disappointed but I do try!) Any way happy birthday Greg!!
